Cartigen Tablet is an anti-osteoporotic drug that contains glucosamine and chondroitin sulfate. It is used to relieve pain and improve function in mild to moderate cases of osteoarthritis. It is also indicated for the treatment of arthritis, tendonitis, and bursitis.

How Cartigen Tablet Works | Cartigen Tablet Active Component

Glucosamine: Glucosamine is a common component of the polysaccharide chains of cartilage matrix and synovial fluid glucosaminoglycans. It stimulates the synthesis of physiological glycosaminoglycans and proteoglycans by chondrocytes and hyaluronic acid by synoviocytes.

Glucosamine sulfate also inhibits the activity of cartilage-destroying enzymes such as collagenase and phospholipase A2, as well as other tissue-damaging substances such as superoxide radicals or lysosomal enzymes that contribute to its mild anti-inflammatory effects.

Chondroitin sulfate sodium: Chondroitin sulfate increases the synthesis of cartilage matrix components such as hyaluronic acid and proteoglycans and reduces the degradation of cartilage matrix components, especially collagen II, glycosaminoglycans and proteoglycans.

Chondroitin sulfate also reduces the activity of collagenase, Nacetylglucosaminidase, aggrecanase 1 and 2, matrix metalloproteinase (MMP) 3, MMP-9, MMP-13, MMP-14, cathepsin B and elastase and exerts effects through various anti-inflammatory mechanisms.

How to use Cartigen Tablet ?

1. Take the tablet by mouth with a glass of water.
2. Do not crush or chew the pill.
3. Follow your doctor’s dosage instructions.
4. Do not exceed the recommended dosage.
5. Do not use the medicine after the expiry date.
