Bisacodyl Tablet Uses:

Bisacodyl Tablet In Pakistan Take this medication by mouth as directed by your doctor. If you are self-treating, follow all directions on the product package. If you have any questions, ask your doctor or pharmacist.

Talk to your care team about the use of this medication in children. While this medication may be used in children as young as 6 years for selected conditions, precautions do apply.

Overdosage: If you think you have taken too much of this medicine contact a poison control center or emergency room at once.

Swallow this medication whole. Do not crush, chew, or break the tablet or take it within 1 hour of antacids, milk, or milk products. Doing so can destroy the coating on the tablet and may increase the risk of stomach upset and nausea.

Dosage:

The usual dose for adults and young people aged 12 years and over is 5mg to 10mg, taken once a day at bedtime. If you have not taken bisacodyl before, start with one 5mg tablet and if that does not work you can increase the dose to a maximum of two 5mg tablets (10mg) at bedtime.

Pregnancy and breastfeeding

Bisacodyl tablets or suppositories are not generally recommended if you are pregnant. Talk to your doctor about whether taking bisacodyl is right for you.

If you are pregnant, it’s better to try to treat constipation first without taking a medicine. Your doctor or midwife will advise you to eat more fibre and drink plenty of fluids. It may also help to increase your level of exercise if you can.
