Qsymia 7.5mg Capsules  | Qsymia Capsules (phentermine / topiramate ER) is a combination drug used to help you lose weight. It is taken by mouth once daily, along with a healthy diet and exercise routine.

Qsymia (phentermine/topiramate ER) is only available through the Risk Evaluation and Mitigation Strategy (REMS) program if it may increase the risk of birth defects if taken by people during pregnancy. Some common side effects of Qsymia (phentermine/topiramate ER) include a “pins and needles” sensation, dry mouth, and constipation.

How Qsymia Capsules works?

Qsymia (phentermine/topiramate ER) is a combination drug made up of two drugs.

• Phentermine is a stimulant that works in the brain to reduce your appetite.
• Topiramate is an antiepileptic (antiseizure medicine). Scientists don’t know how it helps you lose weight, but it probably suppresses your appetite and makes you feel fuller.

What is Qsymia used for?

Weight management, along with diet and exercise, for some people:

• Adults with a body mass index (BMI) of 30 kg/m^2^ or greater
• Adults with a BMI of 27 kg/m^2^ or greater and at least one weight-related condition (eg, high blood pressure, type 2 diabetes, or high cholesterol)
• Children 12 years and older with a BMI in the 95th percentile or higher for age and sex

Qysmia Capsules Results:

The results presented here are from mixed research that supported FDA approval of qsymia. The diet in these studies is based on a diet plan that can be endorsed by your health practitioner. As a result of this dosage difference, your results may vary depending on your weight, BMI, weight loss plan, activity level, dose of qsymia, and other factors.

• Qsymia changed to studies in 2 large trials that concerned 3,754 patients aged 18 years or older with a bmi of 27 kg/m2 or greater. The mean baseline weight for subjects in the 2 studies was 256 lbs and 227 lbs, and the mean baseline waist circumference was 47 inches and 45 inches.
• Patients were randomized to placebo, phentermine 3.75 mg/topiramate 23 mg (starter dose), phentermine 7.5 mg/topiramate 46 mg (advocate dose), or phentermine 15 mg/topiramate 92 mg (upper dose). The arrangement was made. In these trials, it was advocated that patients eat a well-balanced diet and reduce their caloric intake by 500 kcal/day.

Qysmia Capsules Side Effects:

Contact your healthcare provider immediately if you experience any of the following:

• High levels of acid in your body (metabolic acidosis): rapid breathing, loss of appetite, feeling tired, and irregular heartbeat
• Dangerously low blood sugar: dizziness, drowsiness, confusion or anxiety, hunger, tremors, sweating, feeling groggy.
• Severe allergic skin reactions: rash, blisters, skin rash, fever, difficulty breathing
• Serious allergic reactions: dizziness, flushing, difficulty breathing, nausea, vomiting, fast heart rate, palpitations, swelling of the face or tongue, difficulty swallowing
• The following side effects may get better over time as your body gets used to the medicine. Tell your healthcare provider right away if you continue to experience these symptoms or if they get worse over time.
